The Ballad of Love and Hate

Permalink With all the controversy going on with Lana Del Rey, she’s sure as hell beating the shit out of the charts.
If you don’t know what’s going on, there’s a lot of flack headed her way lately.
Is she good? Yes.
Is her album good? Yes.
She’ll probably win a Grammy. It’s got some good work on it. Listen to it on headphones, you’ll love it.
Here’s where the issue is: the bloggers are pissed. Pitchfork is giving it a mediocre rating, Spin’s not shitting on the album but farting in her general direction.
Why are they pissed?
You know when Rihanna came out? We don’t know why or where she came from, but she came from nowhere and we were told we were supposed to like her. She was groomed and marketed, just like the industry has always done. Rihanna is shit though so it’s not parallel.
Lana Del Rey was planted off mainstream by marketing teams so that these hipster indy fucks believed they “found” her. When they believe they discovered her last summer when “Video Games” came out, they were being sold her act the entire time. Now it’s come out her families rich. She is an industry sweetheart and has been this whole time.
So now the hipsters are pissed because they are too fucking stupid to know that they were a fucking mark the whole time like an idiot on the street lured into a shell game. They were hustled. Now they are trying to break her like five year olds with a tantrum.
The album stands up for itself. I like it. I also love seeing this idiots smashed in the face especially when they were the ones to tell me to listen in the first place.
